Our information on Facebook should only be shared ways that are congruent with our individual desires. Still his actions seem somewhat inline with Facebook's mission to, "Facebook's mission is to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected."

I guess as long as he took the information in accordance with Facebook's TOS it's okay. Still concerns me that "Ron Bowes" is aligning himself with professionals that adhere to higher standards, ie; not redistributing information in a way that as he admits could make life easier for hackers.

So maybe Facebook will specifically include this in their TOS. Although I believe it is already covered. Since a torrent is an application, I believe he is very close to violating the "Special Provisions Applicable to Developers/Operators of Applications and Websites."

Couldn't he have just taken the information and creatively blacked out some of the information to prove his point? How much time transpired between the time he took the data and the time he reposted the data in the torrent? Was there time for resale or renting of the list?

How much ya wanna bet we all get more friend requests from fake profiles over the next month?

Surely it's more important to stand up for our own individual rights than it is to use stunts like this to portend to support an entire community's rights.

Hope he got the traffic he wanted and gets a better job. We could use him on the white hat team if he understood the difference between morals, ethics and terms of service.

Just my humble opinion. I'm wrong 90% of the time.
