Greetings WOW Members and Web Professionals everywhere!
Bill Cullifer here with the World Organization of Webmasters (WOW) and the WOW Technology Minute.
As you know, WOW’s mission is to support education for Web professionals and to that end we’ve developed a series of Web professional contest that are designed to be educational, an opportunity for professionals to showcase their skills, win some cool prizes and to have some fun.
One such event entitled the WOW Iron Chef of Web Design Competition; (creatively modeled after the famous cooking show) has been a popular series of Web professional contest for events and trade shows that WOW participates in around the globe.
From a WOW perspective, this contest also serves to educate the uninitiated and those that believe that machines are taking over the world, that great web design is much more than a fancy graphics and slick marketing messages on a website.
In fact, as practicing professionals know and can tell you first hand, quality Web design and development has more to do with meeting client needs and processes that make up easy to read, visually appealing and accessible websites.
If you can spare 20 minutes or so please consider following along with a recording of WOW’s 4th annual WOW Iron Chef Competition with TechEd Ontario where team Santa Ana Community College and UC Riverside battle it out live on the trade show floor in a one day head to head web design competition.
If you?’re an aspiring Web pro or teach Web topics you owe it to yourself and your students to watch this video.
