Thursday’s Tech News from the Trenches

Mike at webpronews.com is reporting the new Yahoo! Mail Beta is slow. Internal reports back up his claims. Mike also reports that Ontario police are posting surveillance video of an alleged murderer. The video has received 2,000 views. No word on whether it’s generating leads.

Amazon is counter-suing IBM over patent infringement.

TechCrunch has a review? of? Google’s new domain registration service. Domains are just ten bucks a year but I have a feeling that even at hundred bucks a year, the? time savings would be substantial for anyone managing more than a few domains with Google. Google is also now? offering patent searches.

UC Berkeley is offering over 100 free introductory courses on Google Video. This includes, seminars, speeches and in some cases entire course lectures.

Speaking of lectures, TechCrunch also attended and took notes from a recent blogger meeting with Bill Gates. Apparently, Bill gave some personal insight into Digital Rights Management.
