Microsoft is due to release a new suite of professional design tools. One such tool, Sparkle has been called a “Flash
Killer”. It’s not the first Flash killer to come out but what I find interesting are the resulting timing of these events.

– Did Macromedia have any early insights into Sparkle? Adobe must have as their
recent acquisiton of Macroimedia suggests.
When Microsoft finally releases Vista with Avalon, now called the Windows Presentation Foundation and the Expression Suite of tools, will Adobe have their new product line-up sorted out?
Will Adobe be able to fend-off a meeting of the minds between designers like Manuel Clement, Samuel Wan and some uber programmers at Microsoft?
